[HEALTH] Vulnerable medical images detected

According to a recent study by the German company Greenbone Networks, more than 200,000 medical images of Swiss patients are unprotected. This study therefore the vulnerability of sensitive patient data. The company specializing in cybersecurity therefore analyzed systems that integrate a protocol that allows health actors to exchange and communicate confidential medical data. The results of these scans were significant because the researchers were able to access “339 million medical images, available on 500 servers, present in 24 million patient records“. In addition, names and dates of birth were also obtained. This study was carried out in Switzerland and Greenbone revealed, “two medical servers – their names are not mentioned – are unprotected“.
